Are you still struggling with the realistic nose drawing , than this blog article is for you ..

.

How to draw a realistic nose in just easy simple 5 steps:-

1) a reference image

2) tools

3) outline

4) shading and blending

5) finishing and detailing

1) reference image- before drawing anything the 1st and most important step is the reference image.

Choosing a reference image is the most crucial aspect, I usually prefer a clear and easily reproducible image, you can choose reference image according to your need and ease.

Reference image

2) tools – when it comes to tools which are required to draw an nose, there are many options, but in the beginning, it's better to use to use simple and easy ones .

For this drawing you require:-

a) 0.5mm HB mechanical pencil

b) 2B graphite pencil

c) 4B graphite pencil

d) 6B graphite pencil

e) 2H graphite pencil

f) kneaded eraser / normal eraser

g) blending stumps

h) smooth Bristol paper

3) outline- after looking at the reference image of the nose , 1st draw the vertical straight line and after that draw a line perpendicular to the 1st line as shown in image ,

Rough outline

than start drawing the rough outline of nose taking into consideration the lines which we had drawn earlier in this outline section using the 2H graphite pencil .

Rough sketch should be light and don’t press too hard on the paper to avoid any sharp markings on the paper and also to make it easy for erasing at the end of the final drawing.

4) shading and blending- after the rough outline start with a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil start drawing the skin of a nose and then blending it with the blending stumps to get a smooth texture of graphite on the paper and also while shading intially start with the lighter shade of graphite pencil .

Further shading

After that using the 2B graphite pencil start drawing the darker part of the skin leaving the lighter part of skin untouched and blending with the blending stumps and after that start with a darker shade of pencil 4B, 6B graphite pencil only on the darker part of nose that is the corner of the nose and blending it , be patient with yourself , don’t rush too fast to get the results.

5) finishing and detailing – the last and most important step for a drawing to look realistic, with the help of an eraser, create some highlights according to our reference image and also blend and shade every area of the drawing.

And also blend the sharp margins and outline of the sketch and erase the extra dark markings .
